April Showers - II

II

Namishka was back. And not alone. She had her husband Amey with her. In these two days Aisha had tried her level best to complete the rearrangement of furniture and vases along with the wall decors. Though she was happy with her work and nervous of her provided insights which she very gracefully termed as improvisations.

Aisha noticed Amey not being a bit of bothered or interested in what was going on. Still to gather a little hope she asked out to him.
“Hello Amey. I’m Aisha, your interior decorator. How do you like the way your living is shaping up?”

“Nice to meet you Aisha, but as a matter of fact you shouldn’t be bothered about taking an opinion from a person who is of no value to anyone else in this house.”

‘What did he just say? How am I supposed to react on this? Is he saying this because he’s physically challenged? I mean he’s one of the richest investment bankers of the town with a celeb wife. What could be so wrong with him?’ Aisha wondered. She decided to look down for a while and by the time she looked up to Amey again, he was already walking, climbing the stairs with little difficulty.

Namishka broke Aisha's lost gaze and asked her to walk her through the work done in the week. Thankfully, she liked the outcome and was happy with the living looking extra bright and peppy. “It’s just the way I like it!” Aisha smiled at her and, as soon as she turned back, rolled her eyes.

Just when Aisha thought it was time to sip on some lemonade, Namishka stopped her. “Could we go through the designs for both the bedrooms today itself? I’m out of town for the next whole week again and I don’t want you to waste more time reworking stuff all the way again, you see?” Aisha nodded at her and prepared herself to get grilled. “Sure. After you.”
After 3 hours of continuous struggle and rigorous customizations, Namishka finally approved the designs. Aisha was not very happy but she pretended to be. In the evening, while she was clearing the bedrooms with the team, she bumped into Amey again.

“Hi”, she smiled. He didn’t bother to reciprocate. “How can you work for such a difficult woman? You must be really strong or smart, I guess.” Aisha was in a fix again. “Namishka is really proactive. She contributes in every aspect around her”, she answered, to which he instantly spat, “Yeah every aspect except for the alimony which I have to pay her as a token of being cheated on.” Aisha looked at Amey, the first time in his eyes for a tad longer. He had hazel brown eyes. She kept mum and looked down as soon as she regained her senses, trying to concentrate only on her business. Pin-drop silence surrounded them. She tried to relieve the situation.

“Amey, I actually needed some suggestions from you, if you don’t mind.” He smirked. She continued, “I would be really happy if you make me understand what you’re looking out for your room, sorry, I mean the room…”

“Yeah, yeah! I get it. The room where I spend most of my day.” She looked blankly at him.
“If you’re insisting, I would just like to say that you know your job well and all I need in the situation through which I’m going is a small place in this house where I can feel at home.”
Before Aisha could speak further, Amey started walking away.

April Showers -I

I

"So Namishka, by the inputs which you provided, over the week I've researched and come up with this for your living. Thoughts?"

"Hmm. Looks good, but I'll like to customize it. I guess the blue should be a little more from the pop-colour palette. Could you manage the one which I had worn yesterday. You know pop is so in now-a-days. Your blue from the pastel palette looks a bore."

"But, I'm not sure if the pop will go with the other shades from the design."

"Oh, it surely will. And even if it doesn't, I'm always there to improvize." She shrugged. "You can go ahead and start my living from tomorrow."

Though she was a pain, Aisha had no other option, than following her orders. Namishka was one of the  regular page-3 celebs and, however interfering and irritating this lady was, Aisha was determined to complete this project as it could prove to be a turning point for her career.

Three days passed. Aisha and her team managed to repaint the walls with the electric blue and revamp the texture.

"Aisha, this blue makes me ask her if she's planning to start some sports fan-club lounge from here?"

"Ah! I see you're planning to change your preferences yeah."

They both were in splits.

Jeffy was Aisha's bestie. He was amongst the people of SWAG(Secretly-We-Are-Gay). Jeffy tried a hand at fashion designing before joining Livings, but couldn't do much as he was not very successful in being at the right places at the right times. Yet, he managed to make a handful yet important contacts, and at one the parties where he was trying to find sponsors for his own clothing line, he met Aisha, who was struggling to get clients. His dream of having his own fashion brand got crushed when he didn't get appropriate sponsors due to which his show didn't get any audience. After spending almost half a year in depression, one fine day he showed up at the studio. It was then that he confessed to Aisha his wish to have his own lounge someday. Looking at his condition, Aisha helped him get back on life and since then Jeffy has been a very important part of Livings.

The Innocence of Love

Let's meet the innocent lover...

"You have caught me like a thousand times staring at you. Believe me, I'm helpless. I love looking at you, observing every single thing you do, the way you smile and that twinkle in your eyes when you finally do it. The way you talk, the way you roll your eyes, the way your locks fall freely on your face and the way you put them behind your ear, just everything about you. I wish I could do this forever."

"You have spoken a million words to me and a hundred more telling me that how at times I'm lost and not listening to you. Believe me, it's not my fault. I just wonder how lucky those words are to connect to your heart, how they can make you feel happy and sometimes so relieved that you go on saying five more, 'I feel so good now'. I wish I could hear you forever."

"You have walked with me. And more than that told me to walk along your side and not behind you. Believe me, it's because I'm lost. I'm lost in your aura when I see you walking and at times leading me. I love obeying your commands, I love to see you as 'The One' in my life and moreover I love that feeling of care when you turn around and call out my name. I wish to be mesmerised by you forever."

"You have always kept your life as an open book in front of me and I have always loved you. Believe me, I do. I don't want anything to change. I don't mind you not loving me, as it's you and your happiness which matters the most to me. I wish to be in love with you forever."

Stay back

Their last December together. She wanted to make it the best moments of her life. The joy and frolic in the atmosphere, the love and happiness, she wished these moments were eternal.

On the 31st night, they partied hard, kissed harder, dancing away to bring in the New Year. Its the last time she'll be spending time with him, in fact, the last time she'll be with him.

From the time they reached home, till the time he had to move, she cried, sometimes shedding tears, most of the times withholding them.

He was leaving. Forever. He wanted to settle down in Texas. He wanted to see himself rising a family there. She wanted to live with her parents. Soon, she was going to get married. They had broke up mutually, yet there was something killing them deep down in their hearts. It was love.

At the airport, she kissed him for a final good-bye crying all the way back home. Love succumbed to their individual life-goals.
